Safeway always has staples, but we are on an island. Fresh foods are plentiful when the ship arrives; they can be in short supply at times. Don't despair, come back in a day or two and shop to your heart's content.
Clean, friendly employees, good selection. Sign up for the members card. Remember to go online and add the coupons to your account so they discount even more. I didn't know I had to add coupons, but the customer service center helped me out with an item I didn't receive my discount on, and gave me back my money. I will be back next week! This time with added coupons!
Good produce, bakery, and prepared food sections. They also have a Starbucks, in-store bank, a gift card section, nice flower selection, a bulk food section, indoor and outdoor seating, free wifi, and bathrooms. The self check-out is convenient but lines can get long in both traditional and self check-out areas. They also have some of the cheapest gas on the island, especially if you pay cash and/or participate in Safeway rewards, but the lines can get long there too. So be prepared to have a little patience and show a little aloha. However, this Safeway is a vast improvement over the old site at Prince Kuhio Mall.

I love this store. The employees are very friendly and helpful. They stock up on the freshest vegetables and meats. It has a great deli and bakery. there's even a Starbucks inside where you can sit down and relax during or after your shopping experience.
