I just dropped off my son's PC for repair of a boot-up problem at their new store in the Mamo Mart in downtown Hilo. I also asked them to install a new SSD, graphics card, and power supply that I provided (simple installations that I could do, but would rather have them do to avoid later problems of my teenage son complaining that I did it wrong).
Device Repair Shop has helped me repair some difficult problems with my computer. My husband is quite knowledgeable himself when it comes to lots of minor or bigger quirks. But sometimes you just need an expert hand to do the work. Over the years this has built trust and I wouldn't go anyplace else but to see Carol and her team. I know I will get my PC back in a short time and everything will be back in peak working condition. Despite having excellent virus protection, I still had all kinds of problems and only in depth analysis and removal from experts like the Device Repair Shop got it fixed for good. I'm a longtime customer of this repair service, formerly doing business as The Computer Store. I remember entering the store and seeing rows of typewriters and PC's in for repair (at a time when there were more typewriters in for repair than PC's). That was maybe 20 to 25 years, ago. Now, you hardly find typewriters anywhere. My how times have changed!
This a family owned business and they have serviced me for over 10 years. They recently moved from ther old very visible location. If you are looking for a place you can trust to help you with your computer repairs and needs as well as other equipment, do your self a favor and take the time to talk to these people.
The downpayment was $37.50 + tax. This is non-refundable. Having dealt with them before, I didn't expect a free estimate. What I expect is good quality, dependable service, at a reasonable cost. I've gotten that before from The Computer Store. I expect that legacy to continue at the Device Repair Shop.

And The Computer Store has had to change with the times, accordingly. They've downsized, given up much of their sales inventory of PC's and accessories, and are now focusing on their repair service. I guess that makes sense. With Amazon, Best Buy, and NewEgg providing products online; they have a hard time being competitive in the retail sales market.
