We are so fortunate to have Ms Markus along with all of the teachers at PAM here in Hilo. The Suzuki method of teaching is by far the way to go in my opinion, far beyond traditional teaching for piano, as it instills ability to a child or adult to play piano not just certain songs on a piano. Ms Markus has a gift of brilliance with children and children who learn with her are reached through her experience, expertise, patience, guidance and multiple avenues such as hands on playing and ear training. For our family, piano lessons with Ms Markus have been a dream come true with our 3 year-old, now turned 4. We are very pleased.
One of the best music schools in town. Mrs Markus has an insightful way of teaching music to children. Very professional and high standards. When child is struggling with a part of the song, Mrs Markus will bring out from her bag of ideas, fun methods to get the child to play complex musical parts correctly. Mrs Markus and Mrs Tolchin follow the Suzuki piano method which allows students to enjoy music from an early age as they play pretty and catchy songs from the start. Her school also offers other instruments (flute, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, ukelele) and also traditional piano.
