Amazing bakery with some gluten free options as well. Very friendly staff. Excellent baked goods.
A huge selection of baked goods (They make a point of loving gluten, so look elsewhere if that's not your thing) which are delicious and freshly baked right then and there. Scones are still warm when you leave with them and their choice for breads is unbelievable. They must be supplying the better restaurants in the area as this level of baking takes finesse.
Try walking past this place, seriously, try - you won't be able to.
Great Bakery! Makes you feel like you are eating healthy! Love their meatloaf sandwiches as well as their chicken salad sandwiches. Their scones are great and I also love their little loaves of bread. Reasonable pricing.
The only baker in Hilo that is true and natural definitely give it 10 stars
Recently on a local friend's recommendation I popped in to Papa'a Palaoa Bakery just after opening on a Saturday morning. Of course I was met with that wonderful fresh baking smell and a few smiling locals. I was on a mission to purchase walnut-chocolate chip cookies. My local friend had said they were mac-nut chocolate chip but he was mistaken. Perhaps it would make the cookies too expensive to make them with mac-nuts. The cookies are yummy! As well, there are pre-made sandwich options for the carnivore and vegetarian. All in all a good experience. I'll be back!
No seats or nothing, it's a shop - but an excellent baker's shop which my wife purchased from in droves.
Only drawback for me is that I'm a savoury person and they don't have sandwiches made up to buy (Well, meat/cheese ones - there were veggie options there, also quiche).
