When I was there they did not have enough staff for me to stay overnight and I was flown to a better hospital on a different island. When my brother was there and I was visiting I saw what looked like it could have been a old blood stain on the floor.
Please excuse this late entry. I went into the ER mid-May while I was there visiting. I was in a lot of pain and from intake, all the way to when I left, I really felt the care and professionalism. I'm really grateful to a nurse called Dennis. He held my hand while I was getting treated and took care of me until I left. Thank you so much for your kindness Dennis. I am eternally grateful. And to the rest of the team working in the ER that Sunday morning on 5.14.17, thank you very much for your care. You guys all rock!!!
I've visited emergency center last night fo my daughter's ear pain. Every doctors and nurses was very kind and their treatment was exactly perfact to my daughter. Thank you Dr.Wilson and the ER members in Hilo center.
I am very pleased with the help I received at Hilo Medical Center yesterday. I was taken in via Emergency quickly. All of the staff, from the triage nurse and other assistants, to radiology and doctors were warm, welcoming and professional.
I am scared to go there; the level of incompetence is frightening. Brought in after an accident, they found a broken collar bone. They didn't remove my shirt! They could have seen the bloody, dirty road abrasions or the broken arm. When I screamed as the nurse stuffed my arm into the sling used for collar bone fractures, he paused from his conversation with the pretty CNA, then gave it a final jam over my scream. I have many more examples but am afraid of retaliation. Most frightening to me was meeting a nurse formerly working at HMC who told me she had left them because she could no stomach the routine poor care that was delivered there! Yikes!
