The worst bedside manner, always seemed to degrade me. I had a high risk pregnancy. He also tried to force me to have a risky, unnecessary procedure done while I was pregnant and when I refused he dropped me as patient. No other doctor would take me in fear of stepping on his toes! He finally saw me again when my high risk doctor in Oahu called him and talked to him. After that it was worse for me. I went into preterm labor at 21 weeks and he came in and said nonchalantly "we are flying you to Oahu, they may let you say goodbye to your babies they may not" I was scared, confused, and insanely upset. Kapiolani not only stopped my labor but were horrified but what he had been doing. I had two beautiful healthy babies a couple months later with no thanks to Dr. Hirata. I would not recommend him to anyone EVER!
P.S he has a lot of bad reviews for doing unnecessary procedures on other women like hysterectomies, cerclage, among others. Please if you don't feel its right follow your gut and get a second opinion.
