I was fortunate that I was recommended to Dr. Uohara when I was living in Hilo. I was 32 years old at the time and had been through undiagnosed Gestational Diabetes 9 years earlier during a rough pregnancy. Dr. Uohara was a real Godsend. He instructed me all the way on my diet, helped me watch the diabetes, encouraged me to walk to help keep my sugar down and I gained 12 pounds and gave birth to a healthy 9 pound baby boy. The labor was an absolute cinch thanks to him. I continued under his care for years. I was fortunate to have him as I required 3 additional surgeries over the years and because of his skill and outstanding care, my recovery was amazing. Unfortunately, I no longer reside in Hilo. I miss Dr. Uohara’s care. If you want an OB/Gyn who HONESTLY cares about you and you Can rely on to take outstanding care of you, go to Dr. John Uohara. He’s the BEST!
