Amazing amazing place and must to visit if you are in Hilo. Keep 2-3 hours, pack some food and spend some good time there. You will find good bench to have good and nice walk around. Ample of parking and continuous set of places to click photos. We were surprised by the quality of this place with no fees etc. There is a cafe nearby too and anyways this place is very near to downtown.
This is a Japanese style gardens park located on Banyan Drive in Hilo on the east side of the island of Hawai'i. The park is situated right by the water. It was nice sitting in the park and taking in the serenity the gardens had to offer and equally rewarding walking along the park by the waters.
Great place for a walk and talk. On the North side so is often windy and rough surf. No beach. Waiting for a plane off the island? Close to airport.
Liliuokalani Park is a most beautiful place to visit, walk, relax, enjoy nature and appreciate the heart and hard work that are constantly required and given to maintain such a lovely and historically important feature in beautiful Hilo, on the amazing Big Island. It's located on Banyan Drive, nestled among so many banyan trees and most of Hilo's hotels, and just across a little bay and a road from Coconut Island, a wonderful destination in its own rite, perfect for picnics and barbecues, swimming and relaxing. Both are perfect for beautiful weddings and other photo ops.
If you're looking for a great spot to take scenic shots or somewhere to simply relax, I definitely recommend visiting Liliuokalani Park.
