Fantastic tour to see the sunset on the summit of Mauna Kea and subsequent guided exploration of the stars near the visitors center. Our guide, David was very knowledgeable, professional, interesting and passionate about this beautiful island and it's people. Would highly recommend.
From all budget-friendly places around the World I stayed in in the past, this establishment had the most signs with all kinds of directions. What you can / cannot / should / must do peaks at you from every imaginable corner.
We stayed here for 5 nights as “campers” but still had full access to all facilities (kitchen, laundry, bikes, outdoor showers, bag storage, tv room, lounge, games etc.) The girls who worked here were all very nice and helpful. The facilities were nice and you’re in keaukaha which is where all the best beaches are! We rented bikes a couple days and they weren’t awesome (no hand breaks) and had to be back by dark but that’s about the only thing that wasn’t perfect with the stay.
However; this business is run with a very good heart and a firm structure, and offers tremendous value for the $$ you spend here. My group of 4 used the campground for two nights. The amenities included (fully equipped kitchen, hot shower, TV room, board games, free parking, WiFi, lounge with dining tables or sofas) made it a luxury stay on a tight budget.
We added Airconditioning and now double glazed windows near parking areas so all guests get a great nights sleep..
Great little spot to stay. Comfortable places to lounge, cook, eat, etc. Phone calls and such are in specific areas so no worries on listening to that. Outdoor showers are always nice. Wi-Fi is quick if you need it
