Finally giving up on our local "Mac" place. In a town with low standards for customer service, this place sets new lows. After purchasing 5 mac computers & much more over 8 years, still treated like a bum when I walk in. Yesterday there was one employee in a long conversation with a customer. No one else around. I wanted to buy something quick. Never said "hello." Never said "I'll be with you in a minute." Never said nothing as I stood there with a product in my hand at the counter for 10 minutes. I know geeks aren't famous for people skills but this is ridiculous. and when I needed help with something on previous visit they basically said "good luck.' I try to shop local and small business but this place is horrible.
When my Mac died they gave us excellent advice and laid out our options. Very friendly and impressive place with every Apple product on display.
I'm enthused that Hilo has an Apple-centric store. They often have many of the basic products I need for my apple devices. When it comes to genius know-how or genuine "apple" customer service, go elsewhere. Once they didn't even know how to do a basic "hard reset" of an apple iPhone and wanted me to but a new phone.
The staff were extremely helpful and timely. They were able to recover all of my data and the staff made me feel right at home! I highly recommend them if you're having mac troubles
