Would not recommend. Pros: there's a kitchen with 1 working burner. Near Richardson's park. Private room. Cons: floor was not clean. Feet got disgusting after walking around barefoot in the room. Blanket had sand and did not seem clean. The internet in our room was too far away and cut in and out.
Very helpful host - came by after we settled in to make sure we don't need anything. Gave good dining suggestions. Accommodations aren't new or modern, but it was as advertised and it was what we needed. Has a (pay) washer/dryer on premises and a free kitchen with snacks / breakfast foods.
Very nice cottage by the beach. I loved the stay. Will definitely recommend if you are staying there for multiple nights.
Don't recommend this place. The owner is definitely trying to provide a lot of things, such as a shared kitchen, breakfast, coffee maker, AC, etc. Unfortunately, I felt like the priority was put on the quantity of things they can provide, rather than the quality. The sheets were not good quality, the floor was dirty (I made the mistake of walking around in my white socks), half of the pots and pans have broken parts, 3 out of 4 stoves dont lit, the breakfast was a make-it-yourself and the cereal was stale. The upsides are i didn't have issues with the stay or parking and it's pretty close to many attractions are Hilo. Ultimately, if i were to come to Hilo again, I would not stay here.
