So I got certified here and I just had a few things to say. I am here to say that it was a pretty good experience the staff is friendly and nice, and pretty accommodating for the most part. Now, why did I give them three stars instead of five is because they are pretty disorganized here. I had already done a few techniques towards my certification and got a new instructor for my next dives, and he had no idea about my progress. I told him to find my file and he could not find it, therefore he made me repeat and start from the beginning. The owner is a little intense, I am small bodied and could not get my flippers off in the water because I got stuck in the current he annoyingly told me to hurry as if though I was purposefully trying to prolong the dive. When in reality I was tired from a long dive, and was trying my best to get them off as quickly as I could. The owner also very easily gets heated about safety to the point where you feel just a bit scared, of course safety is key in scuba diving no doubt about that. But there is a manner in which to approach a situation aka do not raise your voice. Also the sites that they take you are not super amazing there are way prettier places to dive on Big Island. I know on Kona side there is a scuba diving private shop look into that, these people were not bad but looking back at my diving experience it also was not the most fun.
Highly recommend the Hilo Ocean Adventures team. They helped us out with flippers, booties and googles for snorkling. Also were very helpful in warning us about surf conditions.
This is a wonderful place for swim lessons! The lessons are private so my child gets to have his instructor's full attention and guidance tailored to his specific abilities. I have been really impressed with the progress my child has made. The staff is friendly and helpful; it is clear they love what they do. They even have an app to let you schedule, pay, and keep track of lessons from your phone.
We rented snorkelling gear. Derrick was super helpful and gave us great suggestions on where the best beach was. We had a great day!

This place is great. The instructors and owners take really good care of you. They have taken over this dive shop and put it on a whole new level. When you chose this dive shop you will be happy with your decision. They are professionals and have all the right gear. My family and I appreciate all the help and care they took to train us.
